"There are no strangers on Christmas Eve"

Another early day today. I had to get up and get the laundry together. We had a lot of laundry so the bags were heavy. I put them in the back of the car for my mom. She hadn't been feeling well and was still sore from shoveling during the weekend. While she went out and did some errands I moved some boxes for my dad and helped him clean up his desk. I did a little bit more cleaning around the house. Jon was coming and I didn't want the house to be a total mess, haha. I brought my new computer downstairs to play with while I was waiting for him.

He came around 4ish and hung out at my house. I gave him a piece of banana bread, which was the reason he came haha. Banana bread and banana nut bread are his favorites. He showed me some cool features on Windows 7 and we messed around on the computer some more until my mom called. She needed to get in the drive way so Jon drove around the block so she could get in before pulling back in our drive way. I helped her carry in the groceries and then Jon helped me put them away. We sat and talked for awhile trying to figure out a good place for dessert. We were going to go to Eddie's Sweet Shop, butit was closing at 6 and it was after 5 already and dinner wasn't ready. We set the table and sat down for dinner.

We decided to get milkshakes. I made sure to give Jon some banana bread to take home for him and his parents. We went over to Johnny Rockets at Atlas Park for milkshakes. We both ended up getting fries too, haha. I got a side of ranch to go with my fries before I had a milkshake. I was so full afterwards. He headed back home to start packing. Lucky guy is going on a cruise with his family for like a week or so. I hung out downstairs on my new computer for a bit. My mom needed some help with the laptop so I showed her some more stuff.

I finally got to Skype with my friend Sean! At first Skype was being retarded and my microphone wouldn't work. I had to uninstall it and then re-download and install it again. The audio cut out sometimes but it was still nice talking to him. He's in Japan! I'm so jealous. I've always wanted to go. It was around 10pm, but it was only noon (Christmas day!) in Japan. I got to meet his two cats, who are both very pretty.

Afterwards I got a call from Cory. He was very wasted at a diner and kept asking why I didn't ask him to hang out, but I asked Jon. It was a pretty funny conversation. He was with Bennett too, so I got to talk to him for a bit too. Cory got a new phone and it was kind of hard to hear the conversation. Another good day. I'm kind of excited for Christmas.

On a side note -- I miss my friends at school.

A day with the family.

More doctor appointments today. I ran the battery on my mp3 player down waiting in the waiting room. My mom and dad had a back to back appointment with their cardiologist. I had to wait for them for over an hour. At least I had music to keep me company.

After the appointment we drove over to Bayside to the PC Richards on Northern Blvd. It wasn't too far from the cardiologist. It was another cold day. We had my dad all bundled up. The parking lot at PC Richards is such a tiny mixed up pain in the ass. Once we got my dad out of the car and into the wheel chair we rolled on into the store. It was really packed. I wasn't expecting it, but I should have since it's so close to Christmas. We finally found the computer that had been advertised and was still on sale. After 10 minutes of looking for someone a worker finally came over. I got really disappointed at first because he said he didn't know if they still had the computer in stock, but he went to go check. That upset my parents. My dad was complaining about them still advertising (it was in today's paper too) and it not being in stock. Finally the guy came back with the computer in the box. He kept trying to sell us other things. First it was a computer case, which I already have. Then it was an anti-virus software, which I can download. Next was Windows Office, which I still have the discs from my old one. It came out to about $700 with tax, which isn't too bad for an HP computer. And $375 of it was paid with my money. My dad put it all on his PC Richard credit card. All the Christmas money I received ($375) from family I had already given to him for the computer.

It's funny because Brenda got a Compaq computer from the guy that always buys her stuff for Christmas. Apparently she was complaining about it not having Windows 7 or something the other day and my dad turned around and said that the new one I was getting came with Windows 7. My mom said Brenda had such a shocked look on her face and then complained to my mom (when my dad wasn't around) about him buying me a new computer when he wouldn't buy her one. My mom turned around and told her that I paid for half of it and would pay for the rest of it once I had a job, unlike her who didn't pay for her computer. Later on after dinner my parents and I were talking about what Brenda said. My dad sometimes says stuff about Brenda's complaining and my mom tells him to tell her to her face instead of making my mom say it. He told her that he shouldn't have to because Brenda was her daughter. He said my daughter is right here and pointed to me. It made me a little happy to hear that he cares about me.

We got Wendys on the way home from PC Richards. I love Wendys, it's my favorite fast food place, haha. I ordered their chili, which is sooo good. I hadn't had it in a very long time so I forgot how spicy it was. After lunch I decided I was going to bake some banana bread. While I was waiting for it to bake I decided to set up the new laptop. I'm totally in love with Windows 7. It is so awesome and I absolutely love this new computer. I took the bread out of the oven and let it cool for 20 minutes. As is was cooling I went upstairs to remove the user account on my old laptop. I brought it downstairs and started to set it up for my mom. Once the bread was cool enough I cut a slice for me and my parents. It was really good! I had never baked bread before so I was a little worried about how it would turn out, but I did ok. The parents like it, haha.

I spent the rest of the day transferring everything to my computer and explaining things to my mom about the old one.

On a side note -- I love waking up to a cat on my head, haha.

Last Minute Shopping and Tea Parties

One thing I really hate is waiting for the cable guy. My parents had doctors appointments today so I got stuck waiting for the cable guy. He was supposed to be there between 12 and 4. I had to get up around 11 to help lock up the house and gates after my parents left. I kind of dozed on and off downstairs and listened to music while waiting. He didn't come until 330ish. By that time my parents had come back. I had to take a shower and start getting ready to meet Kriztille.

After dinner I headed out to Forest Hills to meet up with Kriztille. It was so cold out. I really hate winter. It's honestly my least favorite season. The train ride wasn't too bad. I headed over to Barnes and Noble to meet her. It was so awesome seeing her! It had been quite awhile since I had seen her last. Of course Barnes and Noble had to change their stuff around upstairs. I was looking for a Balance Ball for my mom for Christmas and the last time I had seen them there were upstairs. So we walked around the store for a bit before Kriz was able to find one. It came with two DVDs that show exercises to use with it, a stretching strap, the ball, and an inflater. It wasn't too expensive either, it was about 20 plus tax.

Next we headed to Bath and Body Works. I had to get another gift. I was a little annoyed by it honestly. It's for this girl Evelyn, she's my friend Kaitlyn's best friend and I know for a fact that she doesn't even consider me a friend. She hasn't talked to me in a long time and deleted me from Facebook way back before Thanksgiving break. I really can't stand her attitude and personality truthfully because she's such a fake person. She texted me the other day asking when can we exchange gifts. I had no idea that she was buying me a gift and I don't get why since she doesn't consider me a friend. I really hate getting a gift from someone and not having one for them. I always feel bad. So I had to get her a little something.

Of course we couldn't hang out in Forest Hills without getting tea. So we headed to Crepe and Tearia, where we go all the time. I had some really yummy Mixed Flowers tea. We hung out there for a really long time before going to Duane Reade. I needed to buy wrapping paper. I got a big roll that had fat Santas on it. It was pretty cute.

I had a great time. I wish I could see Kriztille more often, especially when I'm away at school. I spent the rest of the night wrapping presents. I'm so bad at it, haha.

On a side note -- being an insomniac at home sucks. At school it's fine cause I can hang out with people, but at home I'm stuck awake by myself with no one to keep me company except my cats and they can't talk.

Sleepovers are the best!

So last night (Sunday December 13) I slept over at Cory and Kyle's room in Fort Awesome. I had the best time ever! It was definitely one of the best sleep overs I'd ever had. Cory's friend/Lauren's boyfriend Matt slept over too. Lauren hung out for a really long time and we managed to get Sean to hang out until 5ish. I tried convincing him to sleep over too, but he lives a floor below them, haha.

I brought my laptop and my external hard drive over. I took a lot of music from Cory and Sean and some awesome anime and tv shows. We took turns creating our characters in Guitar Hero 5. Mine looks awesome, haha. We played for a bit. I started off doing really terrible on easy mode, but the last time I played for the night I got like 85, which is a big improvement for me.

We played Scategories for a long while. Sean and I competed in Peggle, while Cory played UFC. We watched a movie called East Side Story about a gay guy in Hollywood. Haha it was so great. We ordered Campus Wings, which I'll never do again. My stomach hurt so much after only two wings. We watched like 10 minutes of a beaver documentary. Cory went through his Netflix on his Xbox and ignore the suggestions that Kyle and I gave him.

Sean left around 5. We all had the late night giggles. I couldn't stop laughing at one point. It was so great. After Sean left we decided to at least get settled. Matt and I slept on the floor, but instead of going to sleep we started talking again. We all told random stories. I wish I had slept over at the fort before. One of the best nights ever. I remember finally going to sleep around 7. It was around 3 I finally woke up. Matt had been up since 11. Cory and Kyle had been laying in bed. I don't know what time they actually got up. We finally decided to get some food and headed down to Starbucks for some breakfast sandwiches. Sean came along. It was a really shitty day though cause it was cold and rainy.

I didn't feel like changing clothes. I looked really funny walking down to Starbucks in my shorts and a hoody, carrying a bookbag and a pillow and blanket in my hands. We hung out there for a long while. I really didn't feel like walking back to my dorm in the rain, but eventually I did. I saw the guys like two hours later for dinner at the dining hall and then hung out at the fort again, haha. I should just live in their room for the rest of the semester.

On a side note -- I've realized that I have way more guy friends than I do girl friends, haha.

A what did what??!!

It's been a long time since I posted but today really needs a post. It's freezing up here at school. All day I've been layered up against the cold. I had a tank top, a long sleeved turtle neck, a hoodie, my jacket, hat and scarf when I went out. I had just gotten back to my room a little after 6pm. I took off my layers because it was pretty damn hot in my room. I was just lounging in my tank top and sweat pants when I got a text from my friend Cory. It said :

"Car crashed into Starbucks."

I wasn't sure if I believed him until Kyle called asking me if I knew what happened. I didn't and being curious that I am I started to rush over. I forgot my layers. I just threw on my hoodie over my tank top and my jacket. I forgot my scarf, my hat, and my camera, which I had never wished to have more than I did today. I ran over to Starbucks and could not believe it. A car was in the middle of the store. Glass was everywhere, an ambulance and EMTs and the police, and firefighters were inside.Students were crowded around outside. Because I used to work there for so long my first thought was that I hope my friends are alright. I still have friends that work there and I'm close with Oscar the cashier and the managers Sandra and Jaime. Since I didn't have my camera I tried to take a few pictures with my phone. It came out pretty shitty.

I met up with Cory and Kyle and stayed out until about 930ish trying to do some reporting for The Brick, our online newspaper, about what happened and who saw it. It was a crazy day and I was freezing. My feet were numb and still hurt. We still don't have a clear story of what exactly happened yet. The driver is missing and there are a few people in the hospital with injuries. There's already an article on newspaper website.

On a side note -- This has been a crazy week.

Homework and Trivial Pursuit

I pretty much did nothing but homework today. After Desperate Housewives I went over to Kyle's to work on our midterm project proposal. It's so hard to do work with Cory, Matt and Lauren in the room. We kept getting distracted by Cory playing music and then Matt decided he was going to read Trivial Pursuit questions. Cory has Trivial Pursuit the 80s, 90s and Pop Culture edition. It was a lot of fun actually. He'd read a question and we'd tried to guess it. The 80s one was really hard. We finally finished our proposal and I decided to hang around. I was having a lot of fun just chilling out and answering questions. We ended up hanging around until 2ish answering questions and watching youtube videos. Cory showed this one video of a guy screaming at cats that had me crying because I was laughing so hard.

On a side note -- I love doing nothing with my friends.

The Great Escape

Britt and I didn't wake up until 1ish and then we met up with Darci and headed to the dhall for the hangover meal. Dhall is so great after a night of drinking. I had a pretty amazing omelet. Britt couldn't stay the whole weekend so we dropped her off at the train station. Darci and I went to the mall to look for a Halloween costume for her, but found out that the Galleria mall doesn't have a costume store this year. It was freezing out today. I hate the cold.

Later on I hung out with Jon, his friends Bennett and Matt, and Lauren. We just hung out and did a whole lot of nothing. It was pretty fun. Bennett and I matched. He had on a plaid shirt and I was wearing my purple plaid dress. I had wanted to take a picture cause we matched, but I forgot. I hung out with them pretty late. I got back to my room around 2am. I was watching the tv guide channel and found out that The Great Escape was playing at 230. It's one of the greatest and saddest movies ever! It's based on a true story and takes place in WWII. It stars Steve McQueen, who is just awesome. It's about a bunch of pows that try escaping and their time in the German prison. Go watch it. Now. I know Kyle loves it so I called him and asked if he wanted to watch it. I went over and watched it together and it was so awesome, but it was super creepy walking back to my dorm at 5am. I'll never get tired of watching that movie.

On a side note -- I really want to go on a road trip.

Brittney's Visit!!

Today was amazing! Brittney came to visit. She transferred to Oswego for education :( and she hasn't been able to visit until now. It was so great to see her again. I really miss her. I miss living with her, Jenn, and Darci. I like living with Kaitlyn, but I really miss living with them too.

We went to Friendly's and the service wasn't that great, but
the food was pretty good. We had a really shitty waitress. We partied pretty hard Friday night. It made me remember the times we partied last year. Haha it was really awesome. Sadly Jenn couldn't stay as long, because she had to drive back home and get up early for a camping trip. Darci had to get up early for work too so she didn't stay out that late. Britt and I didn't get back till late. She was staying in my room since Kaitlyn left for the weekend. I had so much fun even though it was really hot and humid.

Jenn and Darci at Friendly's

Me and Britt at Friendly's

Britt and Me. Last picture of a great night.

On a side note -- My camera, the olympus one that I take out on weekends, really sucks. I wish I had a better point and shoot, but it's useless to buy one since I have a DSLR, but I'm not taking that one out when I go drinking. I don't trust myself.

Pin-up Girls and White Rabbits

I came home for the weekend for the dentist again. I'm so sick of going to him because I always have to wait like 2 hours before I get to see him. There's no reason that I need to wait that long, but because the dumb people in the office schedule appointments for every 15 minutes, which is dumb at a dentist office. Anyway I went to Forest Hills and met up with Kriztille. We had tea and then walked over to the new costume shop that was on 71st. It was pretty cool. They had a lot of costumes that I want, but I eventually decided on the Pin-up girl costume. I want to curl my hair for the outfit on Halloween and I already have the cutest shoes to go with it.

We had some yummy ice cream after and then made our way to Barnes and Nobles like we always do. I bought a new book. It's part of the Masters of Time series, which I'm caught up on it. It felt good. I haven't bought a new book in a long time. It was a good day despite the long wait at the dentist and the rain, but I got to see Kriztille. It makes me happy when I get to see her when I come home.

On a side note -- I need to learn to walk in heels before Halloween.

I feel the scream crawling out of my throat.

I'm transfering. Or hopefully I am if Purchase College ever gets their fucking shit together. They wont give me a copy of my transcript. I'm not even asking them to send it to Hunter for me. I just asked if I could get an officially sealed to student transcript so that I can send it to Hunter myself. I don't trust this school to mail it or do anything. And obviously I'm right to not do so since they won't even give me my own fucking transcript. I used to love this school, but right now it's frustrating me so much that I can't stand to be here. I want to scream so loudly, but I can't because the stupid dorm I'm in has courtesy hours, which basically means I have to be quiet all the time.

I think I'm just going to print out my own transcript and send it to Hunter and I'm hoping they'll take it even if it's an unofficial one. If I can't get into Hunter because they won't give me an official transcript then I'm not going to school. I refuse to stay here any longer and pay $15,000 for a shitty school that can't do anything right. I'm paying for shitty, unhealthy food, a campus full of construction, an incompetent mail room, workers who don't know how to do their job. It's so frustrating and I can't take it anymore. I feel like I'm being punished and I don't know why. I might as well be a college dropout.

Raindrops on Roses

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

The dentist is NOT one of my favorite things, my best friend is. I came home this weekend because I had a 930 dentist appointment. The dentist is ALWAY late and it annoys the hell out of me. He didn't see me until almost noon. Finally we started and he pulled that crap where the needle won't hurt, but it always does. I felt so shitty and number after wards that I needed to take a nap.

I woke up around 2 and helped my mom around the house for a bit before helping her start dinner. We made sloppy joes for me and lobster tails for her and my dad. My mom made me try it because I've never tried it before. I don't like it, which I knew would happen because I'm not a fish or seafood person. I like shrimp, but that's about it.

After dinner I met up with Kriztille in Forest Hills at Crepe and Tearia. We sat and talked for quite awhile before going over to Barnes and Noble. The weather was so crappy this weekend, and I didn't pack the right clothes or shoes for it, haha. We spent a lot of time perusing through the books, but ended up not buying anything. Books are so expensive now. Most of the books I found were like 15 dollars. They had quite a bit of marvel stuff because it's Marvel's 70th year. They had a lot of X-men books, which I love, but they were like 25 dollars. I'm too poor, haha. It was so great spending time with Kriztille, I'm really glad we got to meet up.

On a side note -- I don't know if i like clams. I like Manhattan clam chowder, but I've never really had clams outside of the chowder. So I don't know if that means I like them or not, haha. I guess I'll just have to try clams that aren't in chowder one day.

Frustrating

Last night I stayed up writing a two page comparison on Joy Harjo's poem The Woman Hanging on the 13th Floor Window and Adrienne Rich's Diving into the Wreck. I really hate analyzing poetry and it took me forever to do. I went to the library to do it because I needed to focus and not be surrounded by distractions and I needed to print it. After that Jon called me saying he needed help on the Google homework. I was supposed to do it with Kyle so we all agreed to meet at Jon's. I didn't get back to my room until 130 and was really exhausted.

Stupidly I forgot to turn the volume back on my phone. I didn't hear my alarm and slept through my first class. Thankfully I woke up in time for my last two classes. Birth and Death wasn't bad, but Colloquium made me want to jump off a cliff. We did nothing in class and then I find out the paper I stayed up working on wasn't even due. It's on the syllabus, but she didn't realize we had off for Labor Day and didn't change it on the syllabus. She accepted it, but it still annoyed me that I didn't have to do it.

On a side note -- I'm really excited to come home this weekend. I hate the dentist, but I'm really glad to be in my nice soft bed and surrounded by my four cats. The bed here is so firm and uncomfortable even with the mattress pad on it.

Coffee Maze

Today started off really shitty. I woke up around 730 to get ready for what was supposed to be my training day at Applebees as a hostess. I get there and find out that they over hired and no longer have a position for me. I had to wait an hour for the next shuttle to come so I walked around a bit looking for places to put in applications. However because it was so early a lot of stores weren't open. I did put in some applications at a few cafes.

I took a nap after I got back and then Jenn called around 130. She's been stuck hanging around campus because her car has been in the shop. So we hung around outside at the picnic tables by Starbucks. We were there until 5ish. A long ass time talking and chilling. It was a fun day. I miss living with Jenn.

Later that night Kyle came over and we watched the Labyrinth. Hanging out with Kyle is always really fun. I'm definitely going to miss seeing him all the time when I transfer.

On a side note -- I know all the lyrics to the songs in Labyrinth and quite a few lines. Haha, makes me feel like a nerd.

Back to the Future is Taboo

I watched Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part 2 for the first time. I still need to watch Back to the Future Part 3. I went to Jon's place to watch.

Thankfully there were no classes today because it was Labor Day. The break was well spent. I went over to Jon's and played Taboo with Lauren and Matt. It was so much fun! I had forgotten how much I loved playing Taboo. At first it was Jon and I against Lauren and Matt. They won the first round. Next it was girls versus boys. Lauren and I were in the lead for awhile, but unfortunately we got beat (by one point!) by Jon and Matt. I was still super fun and I laughed so hard. It was a good day off.

On a side note -- My schedule is crazy know and I need a job to fill in all the free time. Because I'm transfering next semester (even though I don't want to) I'm withdrawal from Intermediate French because I want to take a different language. So now that I don't have French on Tuesdays and Fridays, I only have class Mondays and Thursdays. I have Search in the Age of Google at 1030, Birth and Death at 1230, and Colloquium I at 230. I have Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays were I have no class. It's nice to sleep in, but I need something to do. I've started trying to do my homework on those days, because all my stuff for 3 classes is due on the same days. That's what kind of sucks having classes on two days.

Monday, August 31, 2009

First day back

First day back to school and it wasn't that great. All three classes that I have on Mondays and Thursdays seem like a lot of work. I really want to drop Intermediate French on Tuesdays, but I don't want to be stuck with just 12 credits. I have a flag on my account right now, so as of this moment I can't do anything, add/drop classes online. I'm going to try and see if I can do it through the registrar or at least see if they can help me out. Also I might have to transfer to Hunter because it's too expensive here. $15,000 versus like 2,000.

No side note tonight. Not in the greatest mood.

Laundry and Visits

I trudged to the laundromat down the block. I needed to do some serious laundry before I went back to school. I also should really start packing, haha. It was really hot today in the laundromat and there were these two kids that made me want to scream. They had one of those rolling bins, that you use to carry laundry in, and they kept pushing each other in it around the place and screaming. It was kind of awful.

I had to take a shower after doing laundry. I felt so sweaty and gross from sitting in that hot place. After I got out of the shower I got a call from Jaleesa, asking if it was cool to stop by. I got dressed real quick and waited about ten minutes before walking to the train stop to meet her.

We had Chinese food for dinner and hung out upstairs talking. Gizmo seemed to like Jaleesa. She was being all cute and nice, haha. It was really great to see her since she's been in Maryland all weekend. We're planning to hang out Friday too. I'm excited! We both go back to school on Saturday.

On a side note -- I think I might not be able to eat Chinese food anymore. Or at least from the place we usually order. Everytime we've had it this summer my stomach has hurt soo much afterwards. Oh and I also really really hate canker sores.

Worry

I'm very worried and scared. The other day my dad went to go have a stress test. They said that he had a really slow heartbeat in the middle of the test. That's not really normal. He had to come back today to get a heart moniter placed on him for 24 hours. They're worried about the slow heartbeat.

My dad said he's been feeling very tired lightly and that he has trouble breathing. I'm really hoping it's just because of the heat. We have no air conditioning in the house, all we have is fans, he's 85 years old and in a wheelchair. So I feel that the heat would have a greater effect, but he doesn't seem to think it's just the heat.

I don't want to think of him dying or getting sick. I want him as healthy as he can be. He has to stay alive for a long time. I want him to be at my wedding one day and give me away. It really doesn't help me feel any better when he makes stupid jokes about calling Jimmy, the guy that owns the funeral parlor near us; or when he talks about how when he was in WWII when he was 20, he'd pray for 20 more years and he got like 60, so he's happy. I don't like hearing him talk like that and I know my mom doesn't either. She gets really upset when he says things like I'm giving up or send me to a nursing home.

No side note today.

Tea and Rice

I met with Kriztille today in Chinatown. She took me to a real cool place called Muji. I was looking for a planner, cause the one she has is super cool, but they didn't have them. Instead I got four notebooks for $7. Not bad at all. After that she took me to Teariffic. I got an Apple Wonderland. It was sour, but really yummy.

I felt really bad because Matthew texted me about coming to his house for dinner while I was out with Kriz. He never gave me a time when he first asked so I assumed it wasn't happening. He has a habit of not answering text messages. Since I had already agreed I felt bad for not going. Sadly my time with Kriztille was cut short. I'm definitely hanging out with her again before I go back to school on Saturday.

I took the J train to Matt's house. Along the way he texted me telling me that we were having rice and porkchops for dinner. I don't eat pork, and I've never eaten pork because it makes me sick most of the time and I don't like the taste of. You'd think he'd know that after 15 years, but whatever. I just had a lot more rice, which I love. After four years I got my Queer as Folk dvds and my Yami no Matsuei dvds back from him. We hung out for awhile before I had to go home. I left with a big bag of clothes from Iris. She works with a lot of young girls at her office and when they want to get rid of clothes they give them to Iris to give to me. I think it's really cute and funny that most of the people in her office know about me, but I don't know a lot of them. I've only met a few of them when I go meet her for lunch or a visit, but they tell me how much she talks about me.

On a side note -- ONE WEEK LEFTTTTT!!!!

Mysterious Package

Finally went school shopping today. My mom woke me up and said that we were going to go. I kind of didn't want to today, because I was hoping I could go see District 9 with Kriz and her friends, but oh well. We got my dad in the car and headed to the Target at College Point.

The air conditioning in the car and the store felt so good! My dad drove his scooter around the store while I held his cane. He bought me a tv! It's a 19inch Magnavox tv/dvd combo. It's smaller than my old tv, but I really like it. The picture is a lot better and there's no more weird white filmy-ness, so I can't complain. It made me really happy that he bought it too. Among other things, I ended up getting a new comforter since my old one got ripped. We came home and set up the tv. While I was upstairs the doorbell rang. I didn't think anything of it because it's usually not for me, but I was called downstairs. My mom told me that it was a package for me. It was from JcPennys and the box was freaking huge! Bigger than me!

My mom asked if I had bought anything, but I didn't. I don't have money to buy anything that big, haha. I opened it and it's a green/blue reversible comforter. There was no packing slip or reciept in the box. My mom called the JcPennys that it was sent from to figure out who sent it and it turns that it was sent from Iris!

I was so shocked! I didn't remember telling her that I needed a new comforter. I called her up to say thank you and that she didn't have to. She told me she didn't mind at all and it turns out that I have another package waiting for me because she bought me sheets to match the comforter. It was such a nice thing to do. My dad just laughed and told me to take both comforters up to school with me. Iris always buys me things and I feel bad for it, but my mom told me that Iris told her that she does it because I'm the daughter she never had. That made me really happy, because I think of Iris as another mother.

On a side note -- Absolutely love this.

Santa was like yoo

It was another hot day. I felt so disgusting like ten minutes after I came out of the shower. Kriztille came to my house and we hung out for a bit while waiting for Kyle to pick us up. I was almost done with straightening my hair when Kriz called saying she was walking down my block, haha.

Once Kyle picked us up we were on our way to the island and thankfully, his car had air conditioning. We hung out at Kyle's house for a bit and saw his cats. If you thought I was bad with 4 cats, Kyle has 8 cats! I wish I had that many. His cats were all so cute. We waited for his friend Julia to finished with the dentist. Once she was done we headed out to Kings Park, the abandoned psychiatric place. It was more like an abandoned village because there were houses where the nurses and doctors used to live, plus all the medical buildings. I scraped my knee while trying to climb a small tree. Total fail, but I have a battle wound from the day, haha.

We took a small hike through the woods to get down to the small beach. It was so pretty. There was a swan in the water that was a camera whore, haha. Kriz and I got into the water and got really close to the swan. The water felt so good, nice and cold. We hung out at the beach for a bit, saw some little crabs, and looked at sea shells before hiking back up to Kings Park.

We explored a bit more before we were told that the park was closing. Next stop was the Witches Brew. The car ride was so relaxing. It seemed like everyone was super tired. Kriz loved the Brew, which made me happy. I tried a new drink, Iced Voodoo, that I love and think I'm always going to get now. After the Brew everyone decided it would be a good idea to go home. Kyle dropped off Julia before taking me and Kriz back to Queens. It was such a great day!! I can't wait to explore Long Island again.

Evil Evil Evil

Dentists are absolutely evil. I hate them. I'm not fond of most doctors, truthfully. I had to go to the dentist by bus today, because my mom and dad had a different doctor appointment. I usually don't mind at all about having to take public transportation, but it was really really hot. We've been having a heat wave the past few days. It's awful. I feel like I'm going to melt and I take so many showers because I can't stand sweating. Our house is so old and the wiring is so old that we can't have air conditioning, so we only have fans.

Anyway, I went to the dentist and surprisingly he was on time. Every time I've had an appointment with him he's been an hour behind. He had to fill a cavity. He said it was really big and that if it starts to hurt with the filling I'll have to get a root canal. I do NOT want that. He numbed my mouth and that shitty liar said that the novocain shot would just be a slight pinch. Total lie. That shit hurt so bad. My mouth was numb, on my left side, all the way up to my ear. I felt so awful after. Lesson of the day - dentists are pure evil.

On a side note -- I need to stop biting at my lips.

Give me your heart make it real, or else forget about it.

I went to the beach today with Hunter. I hadn't been to the beach on a weekend in a long time so I forgot how crowded it could get. It was still fun though. I never go near the water and I perfer to just tan, sleep, and read. There was a small group of seagulls that kept stalking us though. All in all, it was a fun day at the beach. He drove me home and I took the fastest shower of my life. I stuffed a hot dog down for dinner, I was starving cause I forgot to eat breakfast, and then quickly changed clothes.

My mom gave me some money and a ride to the Jamaica LIRR station so I could catch the 635 train to Woodmere. The line was so long though that I had to buy a ticket on the train or I'd have to wait for the 735 train. It's ridiculous how much extra it is on the train. It would have been 6.25 at the station and it was 11 dollars on the train. It's not that long of a ride. I got a little concerned that I missed the stop because I was so concentrated on my reading. I've been reading the Driver's Manual and taking the online quizzes because I want to take the permit test before I go back to school.

I get off at Woodmere and wait for Jon to pick me up. His friend Josh was in the car so we dropped him off at home and I moved to the front seat. While I moved I passed a younger girl on a bike and smiled. We headed out for some pizza, which made me super excited! I love pizza, haha. Jon got a text from Josh saying that the girl I passed said that I was very pretty. It made me smille :)

We brought a pie back to Jon's house, which I think is pretty awesome. He said most pizza places near him don't deliver, which is so shocking to me cause all the places I know deliver, but I guess it's just an island thing, haha. I finally got to meet his dog, Cody, who I think is so cute. We watched My Best Friend's Girl, which I didn't think I would like really 'cause I'm not a Dane Cook fan, but I thought it was pretty good. After that we watched a Rob Thomas concert, haha. It was a lot of fun. I forgot that I used to be into Matchbox 20. It was so good seeing Jon! I haven't seen him in awhile since he's been working so much. School's going to be great because I'll see him all the time, haha.

On a side note -- Minus the Bear is a really awesome band that everyone should check out. This is my favorite song from them. I love how mellow it makes me feel.

Hurry Up, Can't Waste Time

I went to the Pajama Game again. I had bought tickets to see it with Iris cause I knew she would love it and I've barely seen her this summer. She called up after she got out of work and asked if I wanted to get pizza with her before the show. So we went to the pizza place down the block from me and chatted for a bit. It was so great talking to her again. She's like a mother to me it upsets me that I didn't get to see her that often this summer.

Thankfully tonight they had half of the air conditioner working. It was so much better than the night before. Again, I thought the play was great and everyone loved David. Iris thought he was just hysterical. She also thought Hunter, who played Sid, was cute. Haha. We decided to wait for the actors to come out after the show and congratulate everyone. Surprisingly I got an invite to the diner from Nicole. I've been feeling very left out with her lately. Almost like she never wants to hang out. I ask her to hang out and she says sure, but then ends up canceling. I don't really know what to do about it anymore.

So I went to the diner. It was good, because I was starving. I had a lot of fun and I ended up making plans for a beach day Saturday with Hunter.

On a side note -- My tv has been dying slowly so I haven't been using it a lot. Hulu has become my friend since I can't watch my tv, I've been watching the shows on there.
I watched all of Xmen Evolution and it reminded me of how much I used to love Xmen, especially Rogue and Gambit

The Pajama Game is the game I'm in

The opening night of Teen Drama's The Pajama Game. It was really great! David was so good as Hines. I think he was everyone's favorite actually. I went with my mom and Brenda. Everyone was really great. I saw a few people that I know during intermission, including one of my favorite high school teachers, Mrs. Bendana. She's so awesome. She gave me the biggest hug and told me how fabulous and chic she thought my hair was. Haha, she's such a diva, I love it.

There air conditioner was broken so it was super hot in the gym. I was so gross and sweater. That's the main reason I didn't stick around after the show. I just wanted to get out of the heat.

On a side note -- This video always makes me laugh if I'm feeling down.

Amazing Weekend

I came back from an amazing weekend with some of the greatest people I know. It made me really sad to come home. I went to visit the girls I lived with last year, Britt, Darci, and Jenn. It was even sadder because Britt transfered to Oswego so I really don't know when I'll see her again.

Friday -- I took the train up to White Plains, where Darci picked me up. We went back to campus to wait for Jenn and then we all piled in her car for the ride up to Darci's town, Nineveh. Along the way we stopped at Taco Bell. Haha, it's always Taco Bell with us. We finally got to Darci's mom's house around 830-9ish. Her house is so awesome! We had a bonfire and made smores while waiting for Britt to get there. She got a little lost on the way, but finally made it. We sat around the fire for a long time just catching up on each others' lives. It was really great.

Saturday -- We went to Cole Park! It's a little man-made lake that everyone goes too. Before we got there we stopped at The Little Corner Store, where Darci u
sed to work, and got some amazing subs. We laid out tanning and eating for awhile, before we decided to go paddle boating. It was a lot of fun. Darci and Britt did the paddling while Jenn and I relaxed, haha. After the paddle boat we took a walk through the woods and had fun with Darci's self-timer.

Later on we went to a hooka bar. It was an interesting night to say the least. We got two different hookas and when the girl brought them over she knocked one over spilling the coal everywhere. Shortly after that happened we noticed the couch we were sitting on smoking a bit and then realized there a coal fell back there. There was a small couch fire, before one of the guys working put it out. Sadly this was our last night with Britt cause she had to leave in the morning.

Sunday -- Britt left :(!!!!!!! It was really sad. It was kind of rainy all day Sunday, but we made the best of it. We stopped at Darci's dad's house in Bainbridge. Her sister Sara and her kids were there. They're so adorable. We went to the mall afterwards. I ended up buying a pack of nose rings when I really need to get a new bag. Darci bought the cutest leopard print fake glasses, haha. The look adorable on her though. We tried looking for the cyber cafe in downtown Binghamton, but we got lost and deciced to give up. So instead we stopped at Panera to get some food. It was delish. I had a bread bowl with chicken noodle soup, filled me right up. We decided to stay in and rent some movies. You can rent movies at this ice cream shop so we got movies and ice cream, haha. Yummy. We rented Seven Pounds, which we watched first. I cried at the end. It's a really good movie. Next, to lighten the mood we watched Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is so cute and funny. Afterwards Darci went through some of her old clothes and gave them to me and Jenn.

Me and Duffy, (Darci's dog) my best friend for the weekend

Monday morning was sad when we had to leave. Jenn and I drove back down to the city. She had the day off from work so she wanted to visit her boyfriend in Brooklyn. I can't wait to see them again.

Blood and Sleepovers

Kaitlyn picked me up after Teen Drama and we went to the diner with a bunch of other people from Teen Drama. I slept over her house afterwards and watched the first four episodes of True Blood season too. I still need to catch up on the rest. I've seen episode five online, but the quality and sound is so bad.

I had planned to stay and watch more episodes with her the next day, but my mom needed me home.

On a side note -- I'm starting to feel that the people that have called themselves my best friends don't really feel that way and that I'm just the backup friend.

Surprise

Kevin's surprise party was pretty fun. At first it was a little awkward because there was like two groups of people : the Johnny Rockets crew, and the Teen Drama crew and I really don't know either. After awhile though it wasn't too bad. There was good cake, good mixed drinks, and a fun time. I left earlier than I wanted though because I started thinking about a few things that upset me and I didn't want to be around anyone any more. Here's a few pictures from the party courtesy of Anthony Chanza.
Kevin's birthday cake. It was super delicious.

Nicole made some really good strawberry daiquiri's. I think that's my favorite drink from the night.

My face is weird in this picture. That's Hunter drink that he kept leaving with me and then would come back for it. It sounds really gross, Lemonade + Beer + Vodka, but it actually was pretty good.

On a side note -- I think I'm my own worst enemy.
